The Watcher by Lisa Voisin

The Watcher

Book Blurb:

Millennia ago, he fell from heaven for her. Can he face her without falling again?

Fascinated with ancient civilizations, seventeen-year-old Mia Crawford dreams of becoming an archaeologist. She also dreams of wings—soft and silent like snow—and somebody trying to steal them.

When a horrible creature appears out of thin air and attacks her, she knows Michael Fontaine is involved, though he claims to know nothing about it. Secretive and aloof, Michael evokes feelings in Mia that she doesn’t understand. Images of another time and place haunt her. She recognizes them—but not from any textbook.

In search of the truth, Mia discovers a past life of forbidden love, jealousy and revenge that tore an angel from Heaven and sent her to an early grave. Now that her soul has returned, does she have a chance at loving that angel again? Or will an age-old nemesis destroy them both?

Ancient history is only the beginning

Angie J's Review:

I must first say I was given a copy of this book as an ARC for a honest and truthful review.  This book does not have a release date until March 2013.  We will place an amazon  buy link to the book when it become available but ,as of the time this review was written, there wasn't a link.
If you would like more information on this author or book, you can find this them listed on Goodreads, at the authors blog page is http://lisavoisin.wordpress.com/ , OR Find the author on Facebook and  Twitter.

So I have to say that I loved the sweet innocents of this story.  Mia and Michael have a love that is centuries old.  They have been through alot and will continue to go through alot for the love that even 9000 years wont deny.
The story begins with Mia finding a dead body and being chased by wild dogs.  She sees a boy in the shadows but he dissappears.  Later she sees the same boy and is freaked becasue she things she has a stalker.  School starts and she is hanging with her friends when said boy appears to be a new student.  Michael is very rude to Mia but also seems attacted by her.  They do alot of fighting and trying to be friends but something just is "off".  Then enters Damien who is Mr. Bad-Boy that every girl seems to want except Mia.  Well its pretty obvious Damien is a real life bad boy who wants Mia because of century long drama between him and Michael.
I loved the sweetness of the story.  I also loved how Mia and Michael seemed very selfless in their love for the other person. They were awalys trying to do the right thing, even if it wasnt the best idea.  I loved that there was sexual tension but it stay as tension in the book. I would allow an older teen to read this novel. I think that the book started and grabbed you right from the beginning.  I sat and read most of this book in one evening.  I finished reading it the following night.  I think it is written very well and the author does a great job describing what is going on and what is happening.
