Love Me Back by Michelle Lynn

Love Me Back

Blurb:

Growing up in small-town Belcrest, Maddy Jennings always thought she was destined to be with her childhood sweetheart, Trent Basso. Throughout the complicated road she has traveled with Trent, someone else has had a strong presence in Maddy's life. Trent’s older brother Gabe has always been someone she could count on, therefore neither of them can be blamed when lines blur from friendship to something more. However, promises made between brothers threaten to ensure that neither of them will have a permanent place in her life.
When Maddy returns to her hometown for her brother’s wedding, she is forced to face both Trent and Gabe for the first time in two years. While the two Basso brothers fight to win her heart, she is busy struggling with a past that won't seem to let her go. Whether she wants to or not, Maddy must decide to either forfeit her own happiness or forever tear a family apart.

Angie J's snot  sobbing 5 star review:

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Alright alright alright!!!!!  I finished this book but literally had to let it simmer in my brain.  I  finished the book but was an emotional MESS!!!  For me, emotional mess with reading = outstanding writing.  If an author can make me snot sob/ugly cry then she has done her job.  Well friends I did the ugly cry, wipe my nose on my sleeve, hiccup cry with this book AND I LOVED EVERY TEAR THAT FELL.  Yup I am a glutton for a tear jerker.  Why did I love this book you ask when some don't???  There are so many reasons so lets get started ok????

1. I love the back and forth past to present.  I love that with each chapter from past to present you learn so much more about Gabe and Maddy or Maddy and Trent.  I mean right when you think she have the dynamics figured out, BOOM another new layer is added.  PeopleI loved Trent and then hated Trent and then loved Trent.  I loved Gabe and then wanted to kick his butt and then loved him again.

2. The angst...yup I loved it.  The angst is THICK here.  The "almost" and "near close misses" are played at the right times in the novel.  I mean right when you are glad she is going to pick one brother or the other something happens and she is pulled back the other direction...generally Trents BUT....that is another issue.

Ok so what is this book about?  Maddy has loved Trent all her life and him her.  They are Romeo and Juliet.  She moved away at 11 and they share their first kiss.  He says he will always love her.  Things force her to move home and at 14 boom they are back together.  They do the on again off again dance for years but in HS seal the seal and have "relations".  Well Trent dumps her at college to "play the field" and enter his older brother Gabe to pick her up.  Everyone knows Maddy is Trent's girls so he just wants to hang out and cheer her up...until he falls head over heals for her.....DRAMA!!!!  BIG DRAMA!!!!  WEll Trent only seems to want Maddy back when he sees that Gabe is interested OR he is low cuz the baby isnt getting him way in life......

The story is going back and forth from growing up with Trent/Gabe Drama to present time when she is home for her brothers wedding.  She isn't with either brother but both are making a play for her.  One brother the family supports her being with but not the other brother.....DRAMA!!!

Like I have said, I loved this book. I love crying...does that make me weird???  Hope not.  I totally suggest that you give this a read.  I will prolly say that this book will make my top 10 books from July-December for the end of the year round up we will do!!!

About the author:

Michelle Lynn has always been a reader, but her passion has become a full-blown addiction since her husband bought her a Kindle for Mother's Day. She's pretty sure that he regrets this on a regular basis. Especially when she has it propped up next to the stove while she cooks, which often results in a burnt dinner. Or when he loses sleep because the glow from the screen wakes him up when he rolls over at three in the morning. He does agree, however, that she uses this gift more than any other he has ever gotten her. She joking counters that, because of some of the steamy novels she reads, he also benefits more from this gift than any other he has gotten her. ;)

Michelle moved around the Midwest most of her life, transferring from school to school before settling down in the outskirts of Chicago ten years ago, where she now resides with her husband and two kids. She developed a love of reading at a young age, which helped lay the foundation for her passion to write. With the encouragement of her family, she finally sat down and wrote one of the many stories that have been floating around in her head. When she isn’t reading or writing, she can be found playing with her kids, talking to her mom on the phone, or hanging out with her family and friends. But after chasing around twin preschoolers all day, she always cherishes her relaxation time after putting the kids to bed.
