Accidentally on Purpose and Worthy of Redemption by L.D. Davis

Accidentally on Purpose (Accidentally on Purpose, #1)

Blurb:

Emmy thinks her boss Kyle Sterling of Sterling Corporations is a jerk.

So, she sleeps with him.

Emmy tries to put the mistake behind her, but then finds herself snowed in with Kyle. As the snow builds, so does the heat in the house between the two. The problem is that Kyle has a steady girlfriend that he is unwilling to break up with. Emmy cuts Kyle off and starts dating Luke. Even as their relationship takes off, Emmy is finding Kyle hard to shake. He is blatant in his feelings and desires for Emmy, putting her in an awkward situation. She tries hard to resist Kyle, but deep down inside Emmy's motives are shady. When Emmy succumbs to her hidden feelings for Kyle without setting Luke free, devastating consequences ensue.

In addition to her two men, Emmy daydreams about doing violent things to her loud mouthed, opinionated mother.

With some humor and sarcasm, and of course, some tequila, Emmy's world will flip upside down as she deals with the results of "accidentally on purpose" falling for two men at once.

Angie J's Review:

I was given this book by the author for an honest review.

AAAGGGHGHHHHH!!!!!  Ok I got that out first of all.  This book i read in 24 hours and if it wasnt for a job, sleep, children I would have read it without stopping.  From the first page I was hooked!!!  Em and Kyle have this toxic relationship right from the start.  Kyle is dating Jessyca but in love with Em.  He doesn't even really know her except from his creepy stalking he did before meeting her.  Anyway, Em decides that whats good for the goose...she starts to date Luke which just makes everything sooo much more complex.  I love Luke and the relaxing relationship that he and Em have.  However, I can see her draw to Kyle because their passion is combustible.  BUT, when you play with fire you will get burned.  This whole book is Em getting slowly burned by this toxic love she has with Kyle.  She is slowly losing Luke, her job, her friends and family (not that she cares about here awful mom)......then Kyle becomes soooo outta control and obsessed with her that the abuse begins.  By now Luke has said "peace out you liar and I never want to see you again"....Em is just spiraling out of control.  She wont leave Kyle.  She keeps holding out for him and a "them".  He makes promise after promise and Em is let down again and again.  New Years Eve is the ending of it allllll.....the reader doesn't find out until the end of the novel what all happens but you know it is BAD!!!!!
Em finds her way back to Luke due to a "situation" and they work alot out and then....Em and Kyle see each other again.  Kyle is wanting her to come back but thankfully Em stands her ground and tells him what she should have said years ago.  She geos back to Luke and is able to have a great life with him.  They have learned to communicate and work through all the stuff.

I left this review kinda generic because I don't want to ruin it.  I want you to take Em's journey.  Trust me, it is worth it completely!!!

Worthy of Redemption (Accidentally on Purpose, #2)

Blurb:

After his devastating actions in Accidentally On Purpose, Kyle Sterling is trying to move on. He has lost the love of his life and he does not believe he is worthy of ever being loved again.

Lily Whitman has been devastated by the ultimate betrayal and later tragedy hits her heart full force. She doubts she will ever be able to give her heart to anyone again. She hides her own demons behind a wall of colorful hair, piercings, tattoos and a style and attitude that is all her own.

Kyle and Lily find themselves thrown together when Lily takes a position at Sterling Corporation after her place of employment burned to the ground. Lily is the complete opposite of the type of woman that Kyle has ever had any interest in. Lily is rough around the edges and challenges Kyle at every step. Despite his dick-like disposition and violent past, Lily fights to prove to Kyle that he is worthy – of being loved, and worthy of redemption, but Kyle is afraid of repeating history and he can’t let go of his past…And maybe a very important someone from his past isn’t ready to let go yet either…

Angie J's Review:

I received this review copy from the author.

OK SO I loved book one of the series.  There was action, hat naughtiness, drama, more drama and even more drama.  This book has alot of the same elements but it is a little slower then books one.  Is that bad?  absolutely not but the vibe is a bit different...good different but different.

So the book starts with Kyle coming out of rehab and desperate to find Emmy.  He has no clue what he did to her other then "Break his toy"...nice words from Daddy Dearest.  he stumbles into her bar and finds Lily.  he tells her what he did and she saves him from a night of stupid.  The two end up sleeping in the same bed and making out a bit but get stopped.  That is the end of things for now......enter Lily looking for a job at Kyles job.  She is hired to be his assistant aka Emmy's old job.  he is furious because a barmaid cant handle this job....well Klye she is a kick ass assistant.  she does the job and does it well.  They too have chemistry but she wont be a stupid one night stand because she knows he still loves Emmy.  he wont seduce her because she deserves better.  The two fight the attraction but give in...Kyle is Kyle and a dickhead.  Lily is Lily and stubborn.  They do end up finding a way to make things work and I am glad Kyle gets a HEA because he deserves it even if he didnt think he was.

Side plots were Kyles friend Marco...looooved him.  Hoping we get a book?????  Also when Lily tells Jess off at a Gala!!!  CLASSIC but please noooo book for her....lol.  Vic and his cray cray obsession with Lily.  You know something is gonna happen and when it does......ugh!!  Luke and Emmy make a show in this book and let me tell you, Luke is an idiot!!! GROWL!!!!!!!!!!!1

anyway I rated this book a 4 because it was a little slower then the first and it missed a bit of the angst that the other book had.  it is still a solid read and if there is more to the series i cant wait to read them.......
